WANA (Dec 18) – The Strategic Deputy to the Iranian President and the Chinese Ambassador to Tehran have stressed the importance of aligning operational agreements with the framework of the two countries’ 25-year strategic plan.

 

During a meeting on Wednesday, Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Strategic Deputy to the President, and Zong Peiwu, the Chinese Ambassador to Iran, discussed bilateral priorities, international cooperation, and the strategic partnership between the two nations.

 

Zarif underscored the need to implement agreements within the framework of the comprehensive 25-year strategic plan, emphasizing enhanced cooperation in clean industries and renewable energy.

 

Ambassador Zong highlighted the achievements of bilateral relations in recent years and reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening ties with Iran.

 

He stated that Beijing attaches significant importance to its relationship with Tehran and stressed the need to bolster political consultations given regional and global developments.

 

The two officials also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly in Syria. They expressed mutual concerns over the rising activities of terrorist groups and extremism, emphasizing the importance of effective collaboration for peace and stability in the region.
